Helicopter ride over Niagara Falls from Canada

4.9
(177)

Niagara Falls straddles the border between Ontario, Canada, and New York, USA, thereby acting as a symbol of shared beauty.

Seeing Niagara Falls from an aerial angle is one of the most exciting experience one can have.

A helicopter ride over Niagara Falls from Canada brings you to witness the origin of the waterfall system and also its largest waterfall – Horseshoe Falls.

This article shares everything you must know before booking your helicopter tour over Niagara Falls, in Canada.

Why see Niagara Falls with a helicopter tour?

Niagara Falls bears witness to nature’s wonderful creations and epitomizes the force of nature.

A waterfall that is 335 meters (1100 feet) long can be best explored with a Niagara Falls helicopter tour as it is the only way to view more remote regions of this waterfall.

A regular ground tour of the falls does not truly capture the essence of power and grandiosity of the Niagara Falls and also cannot match up to the perspective offered by a helicopter.

While the massive waterfall system’s roaring cascade is thrilling, flying above it adds another layer of adventure.

Water falling from a height creates clouds of milky foam at the bottom, which is as attractive as it gets.

The spectacle of the waterfall cradled in a crescent-shaped valley full of green vegetation is unlike any other.

Why see Niagara Falls from Canada?

When you take the heli tour of Niagara Falls from the Canadian side, you can also see their origin in Lake Ontario.

The Canadian side provides a panoramic vista of all three falls: the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls, and the Bridal Veil Falls.

80% of Horseshoe Falls comes on the Canadian side so you can get up close views when soaring above it.

This side also hosts the Niagara Parkway, which provides a picture-perfect backdrop of widespread greenery and intriguing cliffs against the falls.

One of the best ways to view the Canadian side of Niagara Falls is from the air, where several helicopter companies allow you to fly over well-known sites.

What to see on the Niagara Falls helicopter tour?

Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls are the three distinct parts of Niagara Falls. All of them are visible from the American side, but only Horseshoe Falls is visible on the Canadian side.

Downtown Niagara Falls includes the iconic Queen Street neighborhood, only a few minutes from the mighty Fall and just a few steps from the Niagara River.

Bridal Veil Falls is the most impressive free-falling fall in Colorado.

The Skylon Tower, which rises 236 meters (775 feet) above Niagara Falls’ base, provides breathtaking views of the American and Horseshoe Falls and the rest of the falls.

Whirlpool Aero Car travels between two points on the Canadian shore of the Niagara River. It is an aerial cable car that safely crosses the breathtaking Whirlpool.

Along with Niagara Falls, Queen Victoria Park also houses the Rainbow Bridge and Table Rock House.

The Niagara River’s east bank is home to Whirlpool State Park, where visitors can experience class V rapids and the full force of a natural whirlpool.

The best view of Sir Ada Beck II Generating Station is seen from the US side of the Niagara River.

From sunset to midnight, Rainbow Bridge is brightly illuminated throughout the main tower, the bottom half of the bridge girders, and the lower portion of the anchorage.
